🔑 Key Decisions

Option A: Stop at Chilas
Safer, relaxed. Same hotel as Day 2. Reach by 2 PM. But Day 10 becomes 14+ hours.

Option B: Push to Besham
Longer day but Day 10 becomes much easier (~8 hrs motorway). Recommended if you leave by 6 AM.

⛽ Fuel up in Gilgit on your way out. Next reliable station is Chilas or Besham.

📅 Day 10 — Chilas/Besham → Bahawalpur

🚨 If starting from Chilas, this is an extremely long day. Consider splitting into 2 days (stay in Islamabad, reach Bahawalpur Day 11). Your body will thank you.

🛣 Return Route

Chilas/Besham → Mansehra → Hazara Motorway → M2 → M4 → M5 → Bahawalpur

The motorway section (Islamabad → Bahawalpur) is ~600 km of smooth driving. You'll feel the relief as soon as you hit the Hazara Motorway.

💡 Return Journey Tips

You know the road now — the return drive feels much faster because you're familiar with it
Don't rush — fatigue after 8 days of travel is real. Take breaks every 2 hours.
Mountain roads are different downhill — use engine braking, don't ride the brakes
Fuel strategy — Fill in Gilgit, Chilas, Besham, and again before entering M2
Keep sweets/snacks in the car — sugar helps fight drowsiness
Switch drivers if possible — share the driving load on motorway sections
